Who we are
Wordhoarders is a personal word collection service available at wordhoarders.com. We are not a data company. We are a small product built for people who love language. This policy explains plainly what we collect, why, and what control you have over it.
What we collect
We collect only what is necessary to make the service work:
- ·Email address — To send you a magic sign-in link and, if you opt in, your daily word email.
- ·Words and memories you save — The core of the product. Stored securely and visible only to you unless you mark them public.
- ·Anonymous memories — If a visitor leaves a memory on a public word page without signing in, we store the text and optional source. No email or identity is collected.
- ·Usage data — Basic analytics (page views, device type) via Vercel Analytics. No personal identifiers are attached.
We do not collect passwords. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
How we use your data
- ·To authenticate you via magic link email
- ·To store and resurface your personal word collection
- ·To send a daily email with one word from your collection (only if you are a registered user with saved words)
- ·To display public words and memories on the Explore page
- ·To monitor service health and fix bugs
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II certified platform hosted on AWS. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Authentication is handled via Supabase Auth with time-limited magic links. We use Row Level Security policies so that no user can access another user's private words.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. This is an essential cookie required for the service to function — it does not track you, and it does not require your consent under most privacy frameworks. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ·Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ·Request correction of inaccurate data
- ·Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- ·Object to processing of your data
- ·Withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe from daily emails)
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@wordhoarders.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Data deletion
If you want your account and all your data deleted, email hello@wordhoarders.com from the address associated with your account. We will delete everything within 7 days and confirm by email.
Third-party services
Children
Wordhoarders is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have done so unintentionally, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
